We all know the game Pokemon Go and how it has effortlessly remained at the top of the viral app list. However, a major feature that was missing from this app was the ability of players to communicate with each other in the app by using a chat messenger. Due to the extreme popularity of the app within a short time, developers wanted to piggyback it in order to get some rewards of their own. Keeping that in mind there have been several Pokemon Go chat messengers that have been created so that players can install it and communicate with other players who are near by. Google’s strict policy, however, has struck down most of these apps because they have violated some restriction or the other.
A few lucky ones and some developers who know about Google’s policies and have constructed the apps in such a way that Google does not find anything wrong with it have their apps still intact and functioning. Some of these major chat messengers that are still existent include Razer Go, Go Chat and Go Messenger. All these apps have only one functionality and that is enabling users to talk with other Pokemon go users within a particular scalable area.
Pokemon Go chat messengers:
- Razer Go is an app that has been made by a developer called Razer and it allows players to discover other Pokemon users nearby and chat with them. It also includes three chat modes which are public, team and whisper. Razer Go is available for both Android and iOS as well as there is a web service client that is available for select areas. The extent to which you can chat with other players is also scalable using this app. You can talk to anybody within 5 kilometres, 100 kilometres and if you want to extend even more, then, there is a maximum limit of 1000 kilometres within which you can talk to any player who is available in the chat app.
- The next Pokemon Go Chat messenger app that is still surviving and is in fact rising is the Go Chat app that has been built by a ghost developer but whose owner is a man named Jonathan Zarra. Jonathan took advantage of his job of being a tester by noticing the fact that Pokemon Go did not have a chat messenger of its own, and thus he got himself a ghost developer and built the Go Chat app. Soon after the official release of the Pokemon Go game Go Chat became the 8th most downloaded iOS app. Although Go Chat is a hit, Jonathan has not made any attempt to monetize it yet.
- The next messenger that we have on the list is called the Go Messenger. This app was created by a group of developers who are students at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The four students Alexander, Andreas, Dominic, and Huy-Long, developed this app as soon as the Pokemon Go app was officially released. The version 1.0 of the app was working fine and had many downloads but then Google suddenly came down on the app and removed it for violation of some policies. Following reports that the original version of the app was violating Impersonation and Intellectual Property policies of Google, the app developers redesigned and re-modified it which led to the app being restored on the Google Play Store yet again. Getting the app and chatting is really simple. You just have to choose your team color, add a username and then close the app. It automatically appears in the Pokemon Go game as a chat head much like the Facebook Messenger chat head.
